Why am I pesky? The short answer: environmental reasons.
Yes, I’m a millennial. I like avocados, I do yoga, I sometimes get plant milk lattes, and, *gasp* I worry about the planet. See, I know I’m just one person but I like doing what I can. I don’t own a car, rather I subscribe to a carshare service and use public transit. I love to travel but I feel guilty every time I take the plane so I buy carbon offsets. I try to eat local and buy products with the least amount of packaging, and, most important of all, I don’t eat meat.
Except fish and seafood. Because I’m pesky for environmental reasons, I tend to choose fish and seafood that are OceanWise certified (or otherwise eco-friendly). Like oysters! Delicious in my mouth and great for the planet! Environmental reasons are also why I limit dairy. I’m French and cheese is life, so not going vegan anytime soon, but I’m also aware of what I eat and the impact I have by choosing those products.

I like to shop. And I like to eat.
Animal welfare also comes into it, but it is more a happy byproduct of choosing this diet than my main reason. Though there are certain marine animals I choose not to eat because they are too intelligent like octopus.
Overall, most of my meals are vegetarian since, despite being pesky, I don’t actually like fish that much (except raw, yay sushi!) and I live in a very landlocked area. I’m not perfect. I may slip up once in a while (where did this bacon come from?!), but altogether, I’m quite happy my diet is reducing my environmental impact.
We are using resources as if we had two planets, not one. There is no ‘plan B’ because there is no ‘planet B.’

Coconuts. And I’m nuts.
